Peter worked as a rural GP for the first half of his career, then as a Musculoskeletal Medicine Specialist in Nelson.
Peter has recently retired form clinical work but is still involved in teaching and administration within the NZCMM. He has a broad experience in dealing with musculoskeletal problems.
Peter is aware of the huge unmet need in the community and the urgent need to try and rectify this.

I am a retired Musculoskeletal Medicine Specialist (MSK Specialist) from Ōtautahi/ Christchurch, and I am proud to be on the TMMF Board.
Before working in Musculoskeletal Medicine, I was a General Practice Specialist. I always valued working with my musculoskeletal colleagues over 45 years, be they doctors, physiotherapists or other hands-on practitioners and learned a lot from them and my patients. I completed the PG Dip MSM at Otago University’s distance-learning programme in 2006 whilst I was a busy Mum of three adult children and GP by day before specialising in Musculoskeletal Medicine.
I am very aware of the huge need for our services, the gaps in access to them and the difficulty coordinating good quality team-based care for people with chronic pain and complex musculoskeletal conditions. TMMF is a very important charity that can contribute hugely to the development of improved public and private musculoskeletal services that are more equitable and accessible. My priority goal for TMMF is to fund a chair (professorship) in Musculoskeletal Medicine at one of the Universities.

Brigid has been a general practitioner where she has gained much front line insight and perspective in pain medicine.
Through her work in general practice, and her connections with musculoskeletal medicine over the years, she is acutely aware of the need for more trained specialists and more services in all communities in NZ.
She has a Management Degree and has served on Boards of Medical Organisations and local school Trust Boards.

Ralph has been in practice as a Chartered Accountant for over 30 years, assisting clients to navigate the sometimes complex world of financial reporting , tax and investment planning, as well as acting as a professional trustee.
He has been involved with the NZAMM for many years and has seen the value of the work musculoskeletal medicine doctors do in our communities.
