PROUDLY SUPPORTING ACCESS TO LIFE CHANGING SERVICES ACROSS NEW ZEALAND
TMMF have supported fellow and trainee specialist training throughout the country.
As visible on the map large regions of our country have no ready access to musculoskeletal services and highly populated areas are under-provisioned.
We continue to require funding to provide trainees support to travel and acquire the skills to become specialists.
OUR PURPOSE IS TO HELP PROVIDE ACCESS TO MUSCULOSKELETAL SERVICES TO KIWIS THROUGHOUT THE MOTU, BY:
Promoting musculoskeletal medicine education in New Zealand by making scholarships available to eligible medical doctors to study and enter the specialist branch of musculoskeletal medicine.
Funding the growth of musculoskeletal medicine in New Zealand through the provision of additional services for eligible doctors to gain the experience and supervision required to undertake post-graduate training.
Seeking appropriate opportunities to fund musculoskeletal medicine research in New Zealand, including the potential to fund a Chair position in musculoskeletal medicine at one of our universities.
Promoting education of medical doctors and the general public to improve community awareness as to the availability and utility of musculoskeletal medical care in New Zealand.
Educating the medical profession about musculoskeletal conditions to improve the awareness and recognition of these conditions.
Funding publications and presentations of research at New Zealand conferences for other specialities in order to inform them of the specialist services available in this scope of medical practice.

Without your donation, our aspiring doctors with a passion for making a difference, have to self fund the professional development they need as there is no other funding available.
New Zealand has an amazing base of experts who are leaders in the field in musculoskeletal medicine – but we need to ensure younger doctors have the pathways available to become our specialists of tomorrow and offer the treatments needed by so many kiwis.
As leaders in their field our experts look to establish a strong future for musculoskeletal medicine among younger health professionals in New Zealand. Guarantee the benefits continue to be offered to people suffering from musculoskeletal conditions who are not participating fully in their communities.
Your donations facilitate our current senior practitioners as they train the workforce of tomorrow by covering costs for travel and funding treatments they can deliver and use for training.

Promoting advancements through research and awareness
NZ specialists continue to be at the forefront of knowledge and best practice in this field
Academics and practitioners are involved in a wide range of studies related to musculoskeletal conditions and treatments. This research brings advancements to the delivery of care available to patients and it is vital that we support the growth of this knowledge as well as public and professional awareness of its potential to improve lives.
Through your donations, professional bodies such as New Zealand College of Musculoskeletal Medicine (NZCMM) promote and share best practice and support colleagues across the medical field to maintain relationships, and promote access and referral to services wherever appropriate.
